Episode 135 – Championship Preview 14/15

Leicester

With just over 24 hours to go until the Sky Bet Football League is back (yesssss), the boys return with a bumper preview of the new Championship season.

Millwall managed to escape relegation back in May, despite a season of struggle at the New Den. This year, things are looking a lot more promising as Ian Holloway prepares for his first full season in charge. Mark went down to the club’s press day on Tuesday this week and managed to grab a word with both Holloway and club legend Alan Dunne, who has made over 300 appearances for the Lions. You’ll hear both interviews in this preview.

Also, staying in London, excitement is building as Brentford prepare to entertain Charlton on Saturday in their first second tier fixture since 1993. We speak to their goalkeeper Richard Lee about the season ahead, Mark Warburton and his burgeoning career in the media.

Elsewhere, DC catches up with From The Rookery End podcast regulars Mike Parkin and Jon Moonie for a pre season word on Giuseppe Sannino and Watford – plus Rob Langham from The Two Unfortunates (who has written their 2014/15 Championship preview) and Football League betting expert Mark O’Haire join us. Mark will have his best Championship bets for the new campaign.
