Episode 118 – Redknapp needs results

The shortest month of the year must seem like the longest for Harry Redknapp. With no wins in February and just ten weeks of the season to go, QPR are faltering… badly. The R’s lost 1-0 at Charlton on Saturday to slip down to fourth in the Championship, their lowest position this season. They are now seven points off second spot, effectively playing catch up to both Burnley and Derby in the race for automatic promotion.

Following three straight defeats, can they put it right quickly? Plus does Redknapp still have the backing of the fans? We ask sports writer Sean Gallagher, who covers the club for both West London Sport and The Kilburn Times.

Elsewhere, Wycombe Wanderers picked up only their second win in nineteen games when they beat League Two leaders Chesterfield 1-0 at Adams Park on Saturday. Their first home victory since October last year gives Gareth Ainsworth’s side a five point cushion above the relegation zone. The club’s prospective new owners will also be revealed at their AGM on Wednesday this week. To fill us in on all of that, we speak to Joe Shennan, match commentator for Wycombe’s ‘Chairboys Player‘ and reporter for BBC Three Counties Radio.

There’s also wins for the Championship bottom three to discuss, Wolves on a roll, a selfie at Scunthorpe, Jim in Berlin, Mark at Kingsmeadow, and we ask – why are Leeds ALWAYS on Sky? All that plus Michael Dunne tells us more about his club Bournemouth…
