Episode 43 – All Rhodes lead to the Championship

Thanks for listening this season! In an extended final show, the WAGU boys pick through the last ten months to select their personal highlights. We talk our best and ‘most wanted’ signings, underrated talents, young players and our Football League player of 2011/12.

We also review the League One play-off final at Wembley, after Huddersfield’s incredible 8-7 penalty win against beleaguered Sheffield United sealed promotion. Terriers blogger James Bartaby is on the phone to give us his verdict on a tense afternoon in the sun at Wembley, and life back in the second tier for Simon Grayson.

In League Two, that man Nick Powell makes yet more headlines, after Crewe see off Cheltenham in the League Two play-off final to return to League One after three years away. We pay tribute to Alex boss Steve Davis, who has guided the club to a run of nineteen games unbeaten.

There’s also Jack Butland in the England Euro 2012 squad – and THE FINAL of The Allan Johnston Paint Trophy. Doncaster, Northampton and Wycombe battle it out for the season’s final bit of silverware.
