Episode 38 – Coventry hit rock bottom

The countdown is on to the final day of the Championship season, but for Coventry and Portsmouth it is already all over. With relegation for both now confirmed, the boys chat to Steve Phelps, author and writer of Coventry blog ‘Away From Home’ about the increasingly desperate situation both in the boardroom and on the field at the Ricoh. With Reading back in the Premier League as champions, we also salute Brian McDermott and his squad – plus preview a dramatic final day ahead for Southampton, West Ham, Cardiff and Middlesbrough.

In League One, Charlton are confirmed as champions as the battle for second goes to the wire between the Blades and the Owls, plus while Chesterfield, Wycombe and Exeter fight on down the bottom, it’s all over for John Coleman and Rochdale, who have been relegated. We speak to our Dale blogger Jack Oldham for his verdict on a disasterous season.

In League Two Barnet swap Lawrie Sanchez for Martin Allen as they bid to escape the drop, and despite two away defeats, Paolo Di Canio and Swindon are promoted. Ron Smith, founder and editor of the Robins blog ‘The Washbag’ is on the phone to give his reaction.

We’ve all that, Oldham against Bradford in the Allan Johnston Paint Trophy – plus big news for fans of the Dalai Lama…
