Episode 36 – Bristol City edge clear

Jon Stead

This week the boys look back on a bumper Easter weekend of Football League action, including a crucial win for Derek McInnes and his Bristol City side in their crunch relegation six-pointer against Coventry at Ashton Gate. Robins’ blogger Paul Binning was on the line to talk about their second successive win, and assess the run in with just four games remaining.

Elsewhere in the Championship we look back on Saturday’s epic ‘El Clasicoast‘ at St Mary’s and another home draw for West Ham, whilst in League One things are looking decidedly bleak down the bottom for Wycombe. They were tonked 4-0 by lowly Chesterfield on Saturday, and are now four points off safety. We were joined by Greg Burns from the Buckinghamshire Advertiser and Examiner for his verdict…

In League Two we also assess Steve Evans’ shock decision to leave Crawley for Rotherham, and look at the increasingly desperate plight of Hereford and Macclesfield, both of whom are running out of time to save their Football League lives.

There’s no Allan Johnston Paint Trophy fixture this week – it returns next week. Remember you can read our latest blogs at wearegoingup.co.uk and follow the show on Twitter @WAGUpodcast.
