The Times

Happy 2012! The boys are back with a look back at FA Cup third round weekend, and the ties involving Football League sides. After Swindon’s 2-1 victory over Premier League Wigan Athletic at the County Ground, we speak to Ron Smith, founder and editor of Robins’ blog The Washbag, to get the verdict on Paolo Di Canio’s first six months in charge.

We also doff our caps to Macclesfield, Crawley, Stevenage, Wrexham and MK Dons – plus look ahead to the fourth round.

In League One, we heap yet more praise on English football’s top scorer Jordan Rhodes, who bagged five of Huddersfield’s six goals in Friday’s rout of Wycombe. There’s also wins for Exeter and Hartlepool to discuss, as James Brown returns to the scoresheet.

In League Two we review the weekend’s games, plus speak to Bristol Rovers fan Lucas Swain on the sacking of Paul Buckle and their Cup exit at the hands of Aston Villa.

There’s also a quick glance at the Championship, Graham Westley to Preston and Paul Trollope’s wife to discuss – plus Macclesfield against Burton Albion in the Allan Johnston Paint Trophy…
